Scindapsus Pictus
Some plants earn their place through rarity. This one earns it through sheer beauty.
The Scindapsus pictus is a trailing aroid that stops people in their tracks - its deep, matte green leaves are scattered with irregular silver splashes that catch the light like brushstrokes on dark canvas. Velvety to the touch, effortless to grow, and endlessly rewarding to watch trail and climb.
A cult classic for good reason.
Pot size: 12cm | Approx. height: 25cm
✦ Care Guide
- Light: Bright indirect light enhances the silver variegation. Tolerates lower light but the markings will become less pronounced. Avoid direct sun.
- Water: Water when the top 2–3cm of soil is dry. Drought-tolerant and forgiving - one of the easiest aroids to keep happy.
- Humidity: Tolerates average household humidity well. Appreciates 50%+ for optimal growth and leaf quality.
- Temperature: 18–27°C. Keep away from cold draughts and temperatures below 15°C.
- Soil: Well-draining potting mix with added perlite. Good drainage prevents root rot.
- Feeding: Balanced liquid fertiliser at half strength every 2–4 weeks during spring and summer.
- Repotting: Every 1–2 years. Provide a moss pole to encourage larger, more dramatic leaves.
Each plant is individual - silver patterning varies naturally between plants. Grown with care and handled with love.
