Monstera Siltepecana
The Monstera family has many members. Few are this quietly extraordinary.
The Monstera siltepecana is a study in understated drama - elongated silver-blue leaves marked with darker green veining, each one catching the light differently. In its juvenile trailing form it’s elegant and compact; given a pole to climb, it transforms entirely, developing the fenestrations the genus is famous for.
Two plants in one. Both worth having.
Pot size: 12cm | Approx. height: 20cm
✦ Care Guide
- Light: Bright indirect light preserves the silver colouration. Tolerates moderate light but growth will slow. Avoid direct sun.
- Water: Water when the top 2–3cm of soil is dry. Allow good drainage - this plant dislikes sitting in wet soil.
- Humidity: Appreciates humidity above 50–60%. A pebble tray or humidifier nearby will keep it thriving.
- Temperature: 18–27°C. Protect from cold draughts and temperatures below 15°C.
- Soil: Well-draining aroid mix - perlite, orchid bark, and coco coir. Good aeration is key.
- Feeding: Balanced liquid fertiliser at half strength every 2–4 weeks in spring and summer. Rest in winter.
- Repotting: Every 1–2 years. Provide a moss pole to encourage mature, fenestrated growth.
Each plant is individual - silver patterning and leaf shape will vary naturally. Grown with care and handled with love.
